Brandon's Gone - Let's Plan the "Mega LAN"

Alright.  Now that Bradon's gone we no longer have to hold back.  I know that everyone was scared that Brandon was going to infect any attendees with his natural computer viruses, but you need not be afraid any longer.  It's time to plan the big one.  My Dad said he would host it at his house.  Let's start throwing out some dates you nappy headed hos.

Another one bites the dust...

Well, y'all, looks like another LAN has come and gone, and it seems as if the gaming spirit is slowly dying amongst us all.  We had some fun, but, as is probably no surprise anymore, not many people showed up until late, if at all.  This was basically the "Supreme Commander LAN" since that was all we played, save for a few games of Savage per request.  This was the last LAN party that I'll be attending for some time, if ever again.  For those who don't know, I just signed a contract to work overseas again, this time in the Middle East.  I'm planning on being there for a good long time so I can save up towards my film ambitions.  As long as I make it unscathed I'll be home every 6 months or so for a week or two, but we all know how difficult it is to plan a LAN with little notice and scheduling difficulties.  Seems as if the dedication just isn't there anymore for our PC gaming community.

Lanageddon 2007 is almost here

Don't forget, Friday, March 30th we'll kick off Lanageddon 2007.  I am off work so come over as early as you like.  My address is 3275 High Street, Emigsville, Pa 17318 for those of you that don't know how to get there.   My cell number is 717-424-0743 if you get lost. Also we've just posted the question of what days people will be coming.  So visit the site of leave a comment to the effect of when you plan on coming.

What time will you be at the LAN?

I've already gotten approval for a day off from work on Friday, March 30th. Topper said he's doing the same, so I'll most likely be over to start setting up for the LAN as early as he'll allow. I'm hoping for late morning or very early afternoon. TOPPER, let me know when! So when is everyone else planning on showing up and staying until? I'll be there till late Sunday whenever it's done...

LAN Party Details

I thought we needed a section specifically to sum up all of the information about the LAN. I've been telling lots of people about it so they need somewhere to look to get all the info. Here are some of the things that I can think of:

Date: Friday, March 30th - Sunday, April 1st

Times: Starts at 6:00 P.M. Friday

Place: Tony Topper's house - Tony will post directions

Concept: We all get together with our computers and play games, discuss computer stuff, trade files, etc. Most people stay the entire time, sleeping at the LAN when necessary. We bring food and cook and eat it usually while playing games.

2007's Most Anticipated Games: Debate Anyone?

I wanted to start an intelligent discussion on what games people are keeping an eye on and why. Here's a short list of some games I can't wait for:

  • Crysis - Looks to be one of the most gorgeous FPS games coming out. Some of the gameplay ideas are pretty sweet too.
  • Unreal Tournament 2007 - check this out:
  • Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl - I want to play this because it seems like an excellent way to combine several different genres of games. FPS, RPG, Strategy-non civ-builder are just a few things this game seems to offer.
  • Spore - I can see myself playing this game RELIGOUSLY. Cartoony graphix, sure, but that engine seems to fit the game more so then, say, the Crysis engine that is designed to show off only a couple of environments.  For more:
  • Savage 2 - Looks like they took the original and made some graphic advances with it...but that's about it. There's nothing wrong with not screwing with something good.
  • LOTR Online (might actually stick with this MMORPG) - Mainly because I'm an LOTR freak, but also because this has been in the works for so long, it's bound to be least, it BETTER be!

Anyone else have some games they're waiting for?

lanageddon2007 tentative date

The tentative date of Mar. 30th, 31st has been selected. So get your machine upgraded or sell the piece of shit you have now and buy something new.

Also, please let me know as soon as you can if this date does not work for you so we can reschedule and let everyone know. Please let me know by Jan. 31st.

Sometime shortly after Jan. 31st I will make the date official. Then you all can make sure you have off etc ...

What Games Are We Playing?

Comment and tell me what games we're going to play at the LAN. That way everyone can get them installed and ready ahead of time.
